Flamenco Beach Boudoir: Shooting on Culebra's Top Beach
White sand, turquoise water and total privacy at sunrise - what it takes to plan a boudoir or swimwear shoot on Flamenco Beach.

Flamenco is the most photogenic beach in the Caribbean - and somehow you can still have it nearly to yourself if you plan right. Powder-white sand, water that looks edited even straight from camera, and that famous abandoned tank as a graphic anchor.
Why Flamenco for boudoir & swimwear
- Endless white sand - beautiful negative space behind the subject.
- Shallow turquoise water that catches reflections at sunrise.
- Privacy at golden hour, when day-trippers leave on the afternoon ferry.
- The painted tank and dunes for editorial variety in one walkable beach.
Getting to Culebra
Ferry from Ceiba (about 45 minutes) or a 10-minute flight from Isla Grande or Ceiba. For a shoot I usually fly in the day before, scout at sunset and shoot at sunrise the next day.
Best time for the shoot
Sunrise wins. 5:30 to 7:30 AM gives you private beach, painterly light and calm water. The first ferry of the day reaches Flamenco around 10 AM, so this window is genuinely yours.
What to bring
- Two to three swimsuits - high-cut, classic and one statement piece.
- A flowy cover-up or sheer fabric for movement.
- Reef-safe sunscreen and water.
- A small towel for sand control between looks.
At 6 AM on Flamenco, the beach is yours. By 10 AM, it is everyone's. The whole shoot lives in that window.
Book your Culebra session
I travel to Culebra for boudoir and swimwear editorials. Reach out at least three weeks ahead so we can lock in flights or ferry.
